EXPLORING THE CHAKRAS THROUGH ASANA

with Seane Corn

April 29th-30th, 2006,

at the Carrboro Century Center

$185 early bird fee, $220 after March 29th

In this two-day yoga intensive we will explore the relationship between the chakras and the body through asana,

meditation, reflection, intention and prayer and how understanding their specific dynamics can help empower our

health and choices. Transformation begins when we recognize that there is no separation between the mind and body,

matter and spirit and heaven and earth. The intention of this intensive is to gain greater self-understanding and insight opening

our hearts, expanding our vision, healing our bodies and embracing the Mystery that is our life and the magic that is our potential.

Understanding the seven major chakras, and recognizing them as a bridge between body and consciousness,

can allow us the ability to heal ourselves of restrictive emotional patterns and physical imbalances. The study

of the Chakras can help us to develop our intuition, expand our awareness and consciousness, ground and center

our energy and increase our personal power and relationship to the Sacred. Understanding the chakras

can also open our hearts to love, compassion and even the possibilities of forgiveness. Together, these seven chakras

teach us how to integrate body, mind and Spirit giving us a better understanding of the holistic approach to wellness and

emotional balance. Comprehending these vortexes of compounded electro-magnetic energy and how they exist within

the subtle body can be the gateway into self-understanding and inner harmony.

Saturday, April 29th

   9:30am-12:30pm SACRED RAINBOW

This will be an informative vinyasa flow class. We will use the asana practice to journey through the chakras,

understanding their physiological and psychological components. Through movement, breath, visualization,

intention and prayer we can gain insight on how these vortexes of electro-magnetic energy, when blocked or

excessive, can affect our physical health and emotional clarity. This class offers a glimpse into the

possibilities of self-transformation through wisdom, self-responsibility and forgiveness.

2:30pm-5:00pm  GROUNDING DOWN

After our break, Saturday afternoon will focus on winding down with deep hip openers, visualization exercises,

meditation and relaxation. This class will be informative, playful, reflective and balancing, and open to all levels of experience.

Sunday, April 30th

9:30am-12:30pm VINYASA FLOW:BODY PRAYER

When practicing yoga we have the opportunity to use our bodies as a vehicle for devotion.

Each asana becomes an offering and expression of our infinite appreciation for the Divine in our lives.

We unite matter and consciousness, body and spirit, heaven and earth, exploring every movement as a miracle

and every breath as magic. This creative flow class aligns asana, mediation, visualization and prayer initiating

us into a deeper relationship with our physical, emotional and spiritual selves.

2pm--4pm Q & A

A Sunday afternoon discussion will give us an opportunity ask questions and share thoughts.
