Take your practice to the next level through an in-depth exploration of the fundamental principles of breath and alignment that inform Hatha yoga. Develop a deeper theoretical and practical understanding of the foundational postures (asana) that are at the core of any vinyasa practice and then discover how this deeper understanding can translate into greater ease and joy in the poses themselves. This workshop will combine practice, demonstration and partner work to give students the opportunity to focus upon each of the primary groups of asana that form a comprehensive practice: Friday 7:30pm-9:30pm, Sun Salutations, Saturday12:30pm-3:00pm, Backbends, Twists, Forward Bends, Saturday 4:00pm-6:00pm Arm Balances and Inversions, Sunday 12:30pm-3:30pm, will explore an integrated practice bringing together elements from the previous sessions. The final class is designed to illustrate principles of sequencing and counter-posing and offers an opportunity to experiment with more challenging postures using the themes explored during the weekend. Deposits and fees cannot be refunded, but may be transferred to other workshops or classes. |
